Burlesque Shoes, Burlesque High Heels, Platform Shoes with Glitter
Burlesque shoes may not sound like regulation footwear, but in my line of work – they are essential. And when I say Burlesque shoes, I mean the old-fashioned, ornate ankle boots with a good sized stiletto heel. That’s the original Burlesque style of shoes that you need for this job. I train girls to dance like showgirls… like real showgirls; cabaret dancers for a modern neo-Burlesque club called the Frisky Follies. When I teach them to do the original Can-Can… it doesn’t get more burlesque than that. Frisky by name; frisky by nature – we taunt and tease and provide our audiences with all sorts of cheeky, musical delights!
The burlesque shoes change when its time to do my act though. I do something very special with my darling friend Bessie the boa constrictor. Yes she’s a snake – a real live snake! She and I have been together five years now. I need to wear my sexy platform Burlesque shoes when I’m handling Bessie as she is a big, big girl… as far as snakes go! And wearing shoes that are higher gives me more reach so I’m able to manoeuvre Bessie and keep her happy. Trust me - you do not want a boa constrictor to get cross! People come for miles to see my act… all the new girls watch while I do my sexy routine on stage, so they can learn the tricks and see how a real Burlesque performer struts her stuff and leaves the crowd wanting more.
Strapping on a pair of Mary Jane Burlesque shoes can’t help but lift a bad mood straight away! The flirty, school girl routines always get a huge response from the audience. And that peps the girls up and gives them a real boost… almost a feeling of power and control. Mainly we dance in front of men, for obvious reasons, but that’s not to say we don’t have the odd Hens party show up ready for some fun and laughs. We sometimes invite them up on stage, get them to put on some Burlesque shoes and a sexy sequinned corset and join us in the finale. They love it!
Burlesque shoes can make or break the costume of course. That’s why it’s important to make sure the shoes match each outfit. Flapper shoes are perfect for when we perform our Moulin Rouge cabaret show. Our ‘red sparklers’ as I call them. Cute and fun, these are solid Burlesque shoes that won’t come off… no matter what we do in them. When its time for the girls to do their classic strip tease moves… all they have on at the end of their act are their naughty nipple pasties and their red glittery Burlesque shoes… gorrrrgeous darling!
