Gothic Boots, Goth Platform Boots, Punk Gothic Boots
Gothic boots come in different styles and different heights… depending on the person wearing them and the look they are trying to achieve (being a Goth is a very visual thing don’t you know). But regardless of the type… Gothic boots will usually always give your wallet a bit of a hiding when you buy a pair. That’s if they’re real Gothic boots that is. So for this reason alone, it’s important to look after your lovely shiny new boots in the hope of extending the life of them, thus decreasing the frequency of having to buy new ones so often.
Gothic boots maintenance, therefore, is your own responsibility but necessary if you want to keep them in tip-tip condition. Even if your Goth preference is the ‘worn in’ look… you can still give them a bit of a polish every now and then, to protect them at least. Otherwise, instead of your Gothic boots looking ‘worn in’… they could end up leaning more towards ‘worn out’. That might be ok if your fishnets tights have holes in them and you forgot your black nail polish this morning and your eye makeup is no longer sultry and smoky but instead it is smudged and owl-like… gee what a tatty looking Goth you turned out to be!
The classic Gothic boots styles of course, are the good old sturdy and reliable Doc Martens, platform boots or the army combat boot styles. But there are many variations to these and, really, its how you wear them and what you wear them with that gives you that special unique Goth look. Gothic boots alone are not going to convey your look – they are merely the finishing touch to complete the big Goth picture.
Gothic boots can come in the form of steel-cap work boots or motorbike boots too, don’t forget. These may be a cheaper alternative to the others but once again, it’s all about personal preference. And if you get bored with the laces, zips, studs or the buckles on your Gothic boots, you can always change them… or even add more? How cool being able to chop and change your look to suit your outfit or even your mood on the day. There are no set rules on the way your Gothic boots should look – it’s up to you to be true to yourself and if it’s the eerie Goth look you crave then jump right on in and fully embrace it… boots ‘n’ all!
